Thoughtful gifts that don't cost the earth
If you’re looking to buy a special gift that doesn’t cost the earth, then a truly thoughtful gift that’s been lovingly handmade to order, is totally the way to go.
As the saying goes, it’s not how much you spend, but the thought that counts - which is why this year (with the cost of living crisis) I decided to create an affordable gift range of friendship style bracelets, inspired by some of my favourite meaningful quotes.
My goal was essentially to create a collection that was not only beautiful, thoughtful and perfect for gifting but also affordable and of course eco-friendly - something that as a small, independent, handmade business comes very naturally.
The original idea for the collection began as a one off letterbox gift which I designed for my most treasured friends back in 2020. After a year of not really seeing them due to the pandemic, I was keen to send a little heartfelt, reminder our of special bond and let them know that I was still there for them. So I designed a postcard and simple macramé friendship bracelet around the quote ‘Good friends are like stars, you don’t always see them, but know they are always there.’ It was the perfect way to reconnect and send some much needed love through the post.
My friends loved receiving their bracelets, so I knew I wanted to expand the idea into a bigger collection at some point in the future. So I started saving inspirational quotes with lovely sentiments and meanings, looking for those that really spoke to me and that I knew would be great for gifting to someone else.
Once I had a handful of lovely quotes, I then designed a simple cord bracelet choosing a small silver plated or gold plated charm, such as a heart, star or four leaf clover as a symbol of the quote it matched. I wanted to the bracelet to be long lasting too, to ensure longevity for the wearer but also for the sake of the planet too, which is why I chose an adjustable slider toggle for the clasp.
I then designed a postcard for each of my quotes and printed them on gorgeous laid white card. Leaving the back of the postcard blank for you to write your own personal message and send as a greeting card using the envelope provided. I also designed the postcard to work without the bracelet, so that it could be kept as a keepsake or mini piece of art which could be framed. With the aim of making them even more giftable!

As a small handmade business and just like the rest of my jewellery, all of of my Quote Bracelets are handmade made to order or made in very small batches, which means that they literally don’t cost the earth either - as there is very little wastage or dead stock ever left sitting around.
