5 Jewellery Essentials Every Wardrobe Should Have

For me, jewellery is more than just a fashion accessory, pieces are worn to tell a story as well as an expression of personality and style, especially those investment pieces made from precious metals and gemstones.

They are the kind of pieces you wear every day, the pieces that almost become a part of you. These are the kind of pieces that have been passed down as heirlooms through families for generations, concepts which have barely changed in years and so will always be classic staples for any wardrobe.

A Locket necklace

For me a locket is a true classic. A small pendant or necklace which is often used to hold cherished mementos. Worn close to the heart, it often tells stories love, loss, hope, or joy for the wearer.

You’ll find a locket in tons of different styles, from heart shaped, oval, round or square. Many will open and have the ability to hold something dear inside, classically a photograph of a loved one. Other more contemporary lockets you may be able to personalise with initials or birthstones such as with my Lovelock pendant shown below.

A chunky Charm Bracelet

Charm bracelets offer endless possibilities for personalisation and have been around for generations just like the locket necklace. Each charm can represent a significant event, hobby, or loved one, creating a unique and meaningful piece of jewellery. Whether you collect charms based on your travels, zodiac signs, or favourite animals, a charm bracelet is a fun and expressive way to tell your story.

You will find classic versions and contemporary versions of the charm bracelet, such as those available at Pandora which have beads that slide on to a chain rather than hang from a chain.

Hoop Earrings

Hoop earrings are a versatile and timeless accessory which suits almost every face shape and style. Hoops come in all sorts of sizes and styles, from delicate hoops to bold statement pieces. Whether you prefer gold, silver, or a mix of metals, hoop earrings are a must-have for any jewellery collection and are a great way to add a touch of glamour to an outfit. These will likely never date!

A Name Necklace

You’ve got to love a name necklace! A simple necklace normally in gold or silver with your own name or the name of a loved one. You can sometimes also choose a more intricate design with a birthstone or other embellishments, or perhaps add a few names like the example below. A name necklace is a stylish and sentimental way to express your individuality and thanks to shows such as Sex & the City and style icons like Sarah-Jessica Parker, these continue to be a classic and timeless piece.

A Signet Ring

A signet ring is a classic piece that has been worn for centuries! Traditionally, it was used to seal documents with wax, but today, it is primarily worn as a symbol of heritage, family, or personal significance. Signet rings can be engraved with initials, family crests, or other meaningful symbols.
